Indiana Innocence Project
INIP is a non-profit organization designed to help Indiana’s innocent prisoners obtain freedom and rebuild their lives.
On August 12, 2025, the Indiana Innocence Project (INIP) had an important justice milestone in Indiana, joining the Innocence Network, becoming its 74th innocence organization. Since 2005, Innocence Network members have collectively exonerated more than 850 people.
Founded in August 2024, the Indiana Innocence Project (INIP) is a non-profit organization designed to help Indiana’s innocent prisoners obtain freedom and rebuild their lives. Our mission is to:
- Investigate cases of meritorious innocence claims;
- Secure DNA testing when biological evidence exists;
- Advocate for the release and exoneration of innocent individuals;
- Provide services to exonerees;
- Advocate for criminal justice change to prevent wrongful incarcerations;
- Sustain academic collaborations for student learning.
