Our mission is to combat food insecurity by providing affordable, healthy food options and promoting nutrition education to empower underserved communities. Through our farmers' markets in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, we offer incentives such as NYC Health Bucks and Healthy Seniors-Healthy Shoppers, providing eligible families with additional discounts on fresh produce.

Our Food Distribution Program ensures that vulnerable families receive nutritious food, while our Eating for Good Health initiative includes nutrition education and cooking demonstrations to equip individuals with the knowledge to make healthier choices. We also prioritize support for our farmers, fostering a sustainable food system that benefits both our community and local agriculture. Together, we aim to improve health outcomes and create a more equitable food system for all.

Every Dollar Helps: Help Us Fight Food Insecurity in NYC!

Harvest Home Farmers’ Market Food Distribution Program Our Mission: Harvest Home Farmers’ Market is committed to providing farm-fresh, nutritious, and affordable locally grown produce—and now essential pantry staples—to underserved communities across New York City. Our goal is to alleviate food insecurity, promote healthier eating habits, and empower individuals with the knowledge to make informed food choices. 🍎 Why This Matters Food insecurity remains a critical issue in New York City, affecting over 1.2 million residents , including 1 in 4 children . Many families in low-income communities face both economic and geographic barriers to accessing healthy food. Our program breaks down these barriers by providing consistent access to fresh produce and staple items —such as rice, beans, and grains—ensuring families can prepare complete and nutritious meals at home. 📊 Our 2024 Impact Served 15,000+ families Distributed 300,000+ pounds of fresh, locally grown produce Launched the inclusion of essential pantry staples in weekly food packages Delivered food directly to neighborhoods, schools, senior centers, and community hubs In 2025, we aim to expand our reach to serve over 25,000 families , offering both fresh produce and shelf-stable staples tailored to the cultural and nutritional needs of our communities. 🌱 How We Operate Through partnerships with local farms and food suppliers, and with the help of dedicated volunteers, we distribute Good-to-Go food bags at our market locations and community sites. These bags now include both fresh produce and shelf-stable staples, giving families the tools to prepare balanced meals that last. 🎯 Our 2025 Goals Alleviate food insecurity by serving 25,000+ families annually Provide access to culturally relevant pantry staples in addition to fresh produce Educate families on healthy, affordable meal preparation through cooking demonstrations Strengthen partnerships to build a resilient, community-based food distribution network 📚 The Bigger Picture As Feeding America reports, food insecurity is on the rise nationwide, and NYC remains one of the most impacted areas. Expanding our food distribution efforts to include both perishable and non-perishable items helps ensure long-term food access and better nutrition for our neighbors in need. Every dollar donated helps fill Good-to-Go bags with fresh produce, staple foods, and hope for a more food-secure future. ➡️ Donate today 📢 Share this fundraiser 👩🏽‍🌾 Help nourish New York City—one bag at a time
