GiveDirectly Fundraiser for Akhil's 29th Birthday

Dear friends and family,

Last year, many of your supported my fundraiser for GiveDirectly for my 28th birthday. Thanks to your help, we raised $1750, a massive impact.

This year, I'm setting the more ambitious target of $2000. There's absolutely no pressure to donate, but if you feel comfortable doing so, even a small gift would mean a lot to me.

GiveDirectly is a nonprofit that lets donors send money directly to the world's poorest households, through unconditional cash transfers. In doing so, they aim to accelerate theend of extreme poverty globally, by empowering families in poverty to choose how best to improve their lives. In the past year GiveDirectly has delivered over $100 million to almost 100,000 recipients. They are also highly rated by evaluators such as GiveWell.
