Whether or not you believe that a god exists, we can all acknowledge that there are people on this Earth who could use a little bit of help. This year, I want to use what little platform I have to raise some money to help my fellow humans. To that end, I will be fundraising money for the organization GiveDirectly with a campaign that I am calling “Godless Gains”.
GiveDirectly focuses on unconditional cash transfers to people living in extreme poverty, allowing them to decide how best to use the funds. This method has been studied and is proven to be incredibly effective in terms of helping people.
Also, this fundraising campaign is called Godless Gains for a reason. Obviously it is “Godless” because I myself am an atheist, but as for the “Gains” aspect, I am planning to livestream myself working out, and for every dollar donated throughout the campaign I will be doing:
- 1 pound of bench press
- 1.5 pounds of squat
- 2 pounds of deadlift
I might have to cap those numbers at 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 pounds respectively based purely on what my body is capable of in a single workout, but I want you all to make me work. Make me lift more weight. Let’s hit that $10k goal and see if we can even go past it. And maybe I’ll surpass my own limits as well.
The livestream will be on my TikTok, on December 13th, 2025 at noon ET. I think we have an opportunity to do something great here and to really help people.
