"When science and art intertwine"

As part of the group exhibition “Creation, Between Art and Mathematics”, presented from April 9 to July 25, 2026, at the Maison Poincaré, a new version of the work Laboratorio de Nudos y Afectos will be displayed on the walls of the Institut Henri Poincaré.
It will enter into dialogue with the Wall of Knots from the permanent exhibition, inviting the public to discover the beauty of knots and the connections they weave between mathematical structures and human experiences.

This artistic project offers a sensitive approach to mathematics and a methodical approach to art, creating a dialogue between aesthetics, reflection, and human relationships.

Supporting this campaign means bringing to life a collective work where art and mathematics meet around abstraction, creation, and emotion.
The funds raised will make it possible to create the mural at the Maison Poincaré, organize the knot-making workshops, and make this unique artistic and scientific project accessible to the public.

A class of students, as well as selected donors, will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of the knots during a workshop in March 2026, led by the two creators of the project.
By taking part, they are not only contributing to an artistic creation — they are joining a shared experience, a symbolic gesture of connection and transmission.

Creation and Installation of the Artwork
As part of the exhibition “Creation, Between Art and Mathematics”, a call for projects was launched.
This work was selected to be presented on a permanent basis and will be installed on the façade of the Maison Poincaré.
The workshop will take place on site in March 2026, with a class and a group of selected participants — a group you could join — and will be led by the two designers of the project.

About *Laboratorio de Nudos y Afectos*
Laboratorio de Nudos y Afectos is an interdisciplinary artistic research project that explores the potential of knots, both as mathematical objects and as poetic and emotional symbols.
Born from the collaboration between Chilean artist Rocío Guerrero Marín and Mexican mathematician Darío Alatorre Guzmán, within the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the laboratory was initiated during activities for the International Day of Women in Mathematics (May 12, 2025).
