Crimson Courage is a community of Harvard alumni standing up for academic freedom and constitutional rights in higher education. It was founded to support Harvard’s independence despite financial and other threats from the federal government.
Crimson Courage also endorses academic freedom and freedom of speech; opposes federal efforts to suppress voices, censor vital scholarship, and diminish the presence of varied populations and viewpoints on campus; urges improvements in communication of differing viewpoints and respect among people from different backgrounds; and joins in the urgent advocacy for independent higher education nationally.
Crimson Courage is a volunteer-led, nonpartisan project hosted by Foundation for Civic Leadership.

JEREMY THORNER Academic freedom is essential to the fabric of our democracy and for the progress of our entire nation. No college or university can be bullied into ceding that precious autonomy to the demands of a Federal government gone rogue.
Kevin Ward It is common knowledge that the only way to beat a bully is to confront him, not to acquiesce in the hopes that he will leave you alone. Harvard's refusal to bend the knee is essential to our (and America's) future as a Democracy.
Nicholas Deane Harvard needs to know we support paying the short term cost of standing fast against government control, and working to unite our fellow institutions.
