Emergency Response to the Lebanese Crisis
CCN Response to the Current Crisis (2026) In response to the current escalation of violence and displacement, CCN has again mobilized its teams to support affected communities. In collaboration with local municipalities and the Ministry of Social Affairs, CCN is currently supporting 1,637 displaced families, representing approximately 11,459 individuals (based on an average of seven people per family), living in 16 collective shelters across Beirut and Mount Lebanon. CCN is providing assistance in the following shelters: Altahwitah Complementary State School – Furn El Chebbak, Mount Lebanon Islamic University Shelter – Khaldeh, Mount Lebanon Vocational School Collective Shelter – Bir Hassan, Beirut Choueifat Collective Shelter – Mount Lebanon Baysour Collective Shelter – Mount Lebanon Khreibeh Collective Shelter – Mount Lebanon Zahia Salman State School Shelter – Beirut Batrakieh State School Shelter – Beirut Bchamoun State School – Mount Lebanon Madam Aoun State School Shelter – Chiyah, Mount Lebanon Intermediate School Shelter – Furn El Chebbak, Mount Lebanon Baabda State School Collective Shelter – Mount Lebanon Jasmine School Shelter – Baabda, Mount Lebanon Lebanese University – Faculty of Education Collective Shelter – Furn El Chebbak Shafik Saed High School Shelter – Mount Lebanon Sbineh State School Shelter – Hadath, Mount Lebanon Across these shelters, CCN teams are providing integrated humanitarian assistance to displaced children and families, including: Psychological First Aid and Mental Health Support Psychological first aid for newly displaced families Psychosocial and mental health group sessions for children and adults Activities designed to help children cope with trauma and stress Protection and Child-Friendly Activities Safe activities and support spaces for displaced children Structured recreational and educational activities that help restore routine and emotional stability Emergency Relief Assistance Distribution of hygiene kits Women and Girls Dignity Kits including sanitary pads and personal hygiene items Food items for displaced families Blankets, pillows, and other essential supplies Through these interventions, CCN aims to protect the dignity, well-being, and mental health of displaced children and families while addressing their most urgent humanitarian needs. CCN’s emergency response builds on its long-standing community-based approach. The organization works closely with municipalities, local authorities, schools, and community leaders, ensuring that assistance reaches the most vulnerable families while maintaining strong coordination with humanitarian actors and sector partners.
