2nd year of extremism: Share your love with queers in Russia
- Raised
- $100
- Goal
- $5,000
On November 30th, it will be two years since Russia's Supreme Court declared the "International LGBT movement" as extremist. This decision hasn't just threatened our community, it's criminalized self-expression and stoked fear for thousands of queer Russians. At ComingOut, we believe that even in the darkest times, unconditional love can defeat fear.
We need to raise $5,000 by January 1, 2026 to continue providing crisis-level legal support. When someone is assaulted for who they are, when a person receives an “extremism” charge simply for existing openly, their only safe option is often to reach out to us. And they will always receive help free of charge. Over the past two years, the demand for legal consultations has grown by 320% as political pressure intensifies. This is why we need your support now more than ever.
Our audience in Russia now extends to 50,000 people, and our monthly outreach averages 372,000 people. These are all the people that need our help and your support to keep going. In a time when being who you are can feel dangerous, your support helps us keep our doors open.
Join us in creating real change and showing that compassion and courage can thrive even under pressure.
ComingOut is receiving donations under a 501(c)(3) Fiscal Sponsor in the States, so our U.S.-based donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed by U.S. tax law for their contributions.
