CAIR-CA presents the 19th annual Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP): Empowering the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. The San Francisco Bay Area will be represented at MYLP by some of our region's brightest and most engaged Muslim high school students. They have each been selected from a competitive statewide pool of applicants for their demonstrated leadership potential. What is MYLP though? It is an intensive, four-day retreat in Sacramento designed to introduce high school students to the areas of media, law, and government–avenues that shape public opinion and public policy. Our alumni have been accepted to elite universities including Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, John Hopkins, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. Even more notably, they have gone on to elected office to serve the broader community!   The four-day retreat is valued at over $2,000 per student. As part of their first steps in leadership development with us, we ask the students to help raise part of the cost of their participation. This requirement makes it possible for the students to engage with you directly and tell you their leadership journey. Your contribution will make it possible for these students to participate in this important, life-changing program.  In times like these, learning to advocate is more crucial than ever. As we face the devastating reality of being eight months into a genocide, empowering our youth with the skills and knowledge to fight for justice and equality is imperative.
