CORE OBJECTIVES
Campaign Period: August 26 – Dec. 1, 2026
Fundraising Goal: $50,000 - $25k by Sept. 31, 2026
Equipment Goal: 50 generators or reliable power sources
Building Aloha is raising funds to support Hawaiʻi Island communities impacted by Storm Lala, prioritizing at-risk and rural communities and trusted nonprofit partners.
Our objectives are to:
- Provide generators and dependable power sources
- Expand access to solar and battery-based energy
- Support transportation, fuel, freight, and distribution
- Move essential resources into communities experiencing ongoing need
- Strengthen nonprofit and community-based response capacity
- Invest in equipment capable of supporting future emergencies
WHY POWER MATTERS
When power is disrupted, communities can lose access to communication, refrigeration, water systems, medical equipment, transportation coordination, and other essential services.
Reliable power creates resilience.
This campaign is designed not only to support recovery from Storm Lala, but to help communities develop practical resources that remain useful during future emergencies.
BIG ISLAND FOCUS
Building Aloha is concentrating this campaign on Hawaiʻi Island, supporting communities and organizations responding to Storm Lala's impacts.
We recognize the significant work already being carried by Hawaiʻi Island residents, volunteers, cultural practitioners, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders.
Our approach is partnership, not duplication.
Building Aloha is partnering with and supporting the community-centered work of local grassroots and nonprofits helping strengthen existing networks and connect resources with identified needs.
We respect local leadership, community knowledge, cultural protocol, and the people already carrying the work on the ground.
