Typhoon Yagi Appeal - Emergency assistance

Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm to hit Vietnam in 30 years, took a devastating toll on the lives of millions of Vietnamese people.
After Typhoon Yagi hit, torrential rains, floods, and landslides destroyed many houses in Ha Giang and Dien Bien provinces. These provinces are located in the northern area of Vietnam and are on the front line of climate change, experiencing more severe wet seasons that cause major floods and landslides.
In Hanoi, the typhoon and subsequent release of water from hydropower plants caused rivers to rise quickly. Many families and children Blue Dragon supports in Hanoi live on boats or in slum areas along the Red River. These people, highly vulnerable to natural disasters, have lost their homes and belongings.
Blue Dragon is coordinating a direct response to Typhoon Yagi. Our frontline workers in Hanoi, Ha Giang, and Dien Bien are working around the clock to deliver aid to those who need it most. Any funds remaining after Blue Dragon has distributed emergency aid will be used to rebuild homes and get families back on their feet.
