Emergency Flood Appeal in Vietnam

Dear Friend Of Blue Dragon,

You may have heard that Vietnam has been pounded by some heavy storms recently. The latest, Bualoi, brought yet more torrential rains and winds of over 100 kilometres per hour. 

In rural Nghe An Province, which is still recovering from the impacts of Tropical Storms Wipha in July and Kajiki in August, rivers have burst their banks, causing floodwaters to rise through towns and villages. Landslides continue to destroy homes and lives.

The water levels in Hanoi’s Red River are also rising rapidly. Families living around the river are being evacuated.

As we do in any emergency, Blue Dragon has switched into crisis mode to get children and families to safety. We've moved 54 people into short-term accommodation away from flood zones and the kitchen at the Blue Dragon center is fully focused on preparing meals for families who are unable to cook.

Help people who have lost everything:

$20 gives a packet of emergency food for a family in need.

$50 provides pots, pans, bedding and other basics for a family.

$1,000 pays for a family’s house to be repaired.
