Help Outfit a High School Science Lab
Equip a Science Lab. Empower 25 Future Scientists. Project Title: Science Lab for 21st Century Learners Location: Bay Islands International School, Honduras Target Beneficiaries: 100 high school students annually Funding Goal: $25,000 USD Project Overview Bay Islands International School is expanding its academic offerings to meet the needs of a growing student body with a strong interest in science, engineering, and medicine. A fully equipped science lab is essential for students to engage in hands-on learning, critical thinking, and experimentation in biology, chemistry, and physics. The new Science Lab is in support of our effort to build a new school on recently purchased land near the location of the current school. We are seeking partners to help us fund and equip a safe, functional, and modern science laboratory designed for 25 students per class. Why This Lab Matters Without a dedicated science lab, students in our region miss out on critical opportunities to: Conduct experiments and apply scientific theory Develop inquiry-based learning skills Prepare for careers in STEM fields Participate in science fairs, AP-style coursework, and university-readiness programs This project is about more than equipment—it’s about equity. We aim to level the playing field for students in a low-income region through access to a U.S.-style, inquiry-based science education. Funding Breakdown 1. Safety & Lab Furniture – $7,730 Equips the lab with essential furniture and life-saving safety infrastructure: Lab tables and stools Safety goggles, lab coats Eye wash station, fire extinguishers Chemical spill kits and safety signage 2. We are committed to full transparency and will provide photos, updates, and receipts to all supporters. Recognition & Accountability We are happy to recognize donors on a plaque in the lab, on our website, and through regular donor updates. Tax-deductible receipts are available through our U.S.-based fiscal sponsor, The Resource Foundation Join Us By funding this science lab, you’re doing more than buying equipment—you’re giving a young person the opportunity to experiment, explore, and engineer a better world. Let’s build a lab—and a legacy.
