Green Nutrition Mission in Manapparai Taluk Schools
- Raised
- $0
- Goal
- $6,500
In rural Manapparai, many school children lack access to fresh, nutritious food. At the same time, schools have unused land that can be transformed into something powerful — living gardens that feed both body and mind.
The Green Nutrition Mission is an initiative to create sustainable school nutritional gardens across 4 government schools, benefiting over 570 students. These gardens will grow fresh vegetables, greens, and fruits to support school meals while teaching children essential life skills in agriculture, nutrition, and environmental care.
What your support will do:
- Build and maintain school gardens
- Provide seeds, tools, and irrigation systems
- Train teachers and students in sustainable farming
- Promote healthy eating habits among children
Why it matters:
A small garden can make a big difference. Fresh produce improves student health, boosts learning, and reduces dependency on external food sources. It also empowers children to become future stewards of their environment.
