Anushkaa Foundation for Eliminating Clubfoot (AFEC) is a Mumbai based non profit organisation established in 2014 by Mr Deepak Premnarayen, Mrs Neelima Premnarayen, and Mr Kunal Premnarayen. The Foundation works to ensure that children born with clubfoot receive timely and appropriate care through the globally recognised Ponseti method. This is a non surgical, cost effective, and widely accepted treatment for correcting clubfoot.
In India, AFEC currently works across 13 states and 165 districts, in close partnership with government health systems and charitable hospitals. The Foundation focuses on early identification of children, strengthening local healthcare capacity, and ensuring that treatment is accessible and affordable for families through the public health system.
Since the launch of the national program in 2018, more than 24,000 children have been enrolled for treatment. AFEC has built a strong ecosystem of care by training doctors, supporting frontline health workers, and strengthening service delivery within government hospitals. The program has enabled over 2 lakh cumulative patient visits, ensuring regular follow up and continuity of care over several years, which is critical for successful clubfoot correction.
Through formal partnerships with state governments, AFEC continues to strengthen systems so that children born with clubfoot can access early, complete, and sustained treatment close to their homes.
