The Sickle Cell Livelihood Fund is a fund by Africa Sickle Cell Organisation for people living with sickle cell and their families in Kenyan rural communities.
Sickle Cell heavy financial burden due to high out-of-pocket expenses for sickle cell care, low educational attainment and high unemployment rates significantly reduces the ability of patients and families to access basic needs i.e. food, clean water, shelter and sanitation, education. This financial strain impacts their adherence to sickle cell care resulting to poor health outcomes, preventable complications and premature death.
Our goal is to support sickle cell patients and their households address challenges of :-
- food insecurity
- limited access to clean water
- inadequate shelter and sanitation
- Education
Every month, we'll be providing :-
- Small grants of $100 for income generating activities to patients and caregivers
- Small annual educational scholarships for patients in tertiary learning institutions
Your generous donation will provide continuous support for the most vulnerable sickle cell patients and their households. This contribution will help strengthen our communities, offering crucial economic boost to those in most need.
