TORC rocks and I’m proud to be a member!

Summer is when Triangle trails get hammered: heat, storms, overgrowth, drainage issues, erosion, and worn signage and flags; but the trailheads are filled with happy, high frequency riders. And TORC’s volunteers keep showing up: but we need a new inventory of tools to make trail building progress. Please make a gift to the Summer Trail Revival and help us prepare for the fall. 

What's coming in the fall? TORC is working to increase our total trail mileage for you with strategic growth on all fronts:
🪏We are planning to buy Trail Boss tools, Backslope Tools, and Husqvarna tools with your help! Some of our trailheads have no tool inventory currently.
🪏 We need a lineup of tools for our volunteer leaders and to have redundancy to support large community trail workdays. 
🪏 We are relaunching redesigned trail at Briar Chapel, including Bennett Mountain, Catullo, and Herndon, with a community event on August 22 - join us - and this major investment in these trails are raising the bar for our tool inventory needs. 
🪏 We subcontracted to a local pro to machine-build the first long flow trail in the Triangle, launching in the coming weeks! We need new tools to maintain that high quality trail. 
🪏 We are advancing a formal Harris Lake trail assessment to help Wake County prioritize safety, drainage, maintenance, and future improvements. We need a specific set of tools to more that project forward. 
🪏 We were awarded an IMBA Trail Accelerator Grant that will help carry today’s gifts and planning momentum into 2027.

Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC) is a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for trails and building and maintaining trails across the Triangle. 

TORC is the Triangle area chapter of Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and was founded in August 2005. As a chapter, when you join TORC you're automatically joining SORBA and you're supporting both the Triangle but also trails across the Southeast.

We schedule trail workdays throughout the year to build new trail or maintain existing trails. These workdays offer volunteers the opportunity to invest into our trail designs and for land owners to benefit from our sustainable approach.
