Juliana's sanctuary has been doing great work in the field with not only rescue, but also education and bringing about change. Their most recent and immediate response to the earthquake has been incredible.
From their most recent report to us, after the earthquake, 578 animals have been reported affected and 188 rescued. Those figures come from rescue groups on the ground, so the real numbers are higher. How many animals died is unknown. Many are still injured, displaced, or waiting for someone to reach them.
We hope that our grant will go towards bringing food and medical supplies out to the rescue zones for the animals. Befriend Cows does not conduct rescues. We fund people who already are doing rescues, and we report back on where the money went.
