Rita deserves to have hotel stay until she gets housing.

Rita needs immediate motel placement. She is disabled, uses a walker, and is being sent back to the hospital with a recurring infection. She is also about to match for housing, but only if we can stabilize her and get her documents submitted in time.

Our motel fund is depleted after housing Robert and covering next month’s room for medically-fragile Kelley. Because Rita has her puppy Blue, we must use a full-price motel.

We are raising $3,000–$6,000 to secure a room immediately so Rita can recover, we can help her complete her housing documents, and so her dog Blue can receive his next parvo vaccine through our partner HAPI.

The good news is we expect her to match soon and likely require no more than two months in the motel. 

This is a critical window. A motel room is the bridge between illness and housing.

Town Bizness Motel Fund - Help Rita

Organized volunteers providing outreach to unhoused folks with urgent relief: warmth, food, humanity, and  connection to services.

Town Bizness exists to bring the necessities of a dignified human life to the unhoused population of Oakland and Berkeley, CA. 
These necessities include good food, reliable shelter, clothing, toiletries, bedding, and basic creature comforts such as safe propane stoves and heaters, radios, and more, depending on each client’s needs. 

We also assist with housing, and keeping folks connected to service providers by supplying telephones and monthly service. 

The majority of folks we serve were born where they now live in tents, and once had property ownership in their families here in the bay area, but no longer do. Most are seniors, and many of them are now sick and/or disabled.
