ABOUT:
The Aspen Institute is a recognized platform with over 70 years of experience. It brings together leaders from different contexts and motivates them to develop initiatives that contribute to building a good society. Created in 2021, The Aspen Institute Colombia provides a safe and non-partisan space where leaders can share and listen to divergent perspectives, engaging in constructive and pragmatic conversations. 

PROGRAMS:
Aspen Colombia's main program "Leading Colombia 2050" (LC2050) is now in its third cohort, with around 24 fellows each. In 2024, with the support of our partner Colfuturo, Aspen Colombia will conduct three more cohorts of the program. LC2050 consists of Socratic method-led seminars to discuss the question of how to build a better Colombia. The program also includes field visits to different realities in order to bring participants closer to the country´s challenges and to leaders and organizations succeeding at building a better society. Additionally, Aspen Colombia gathers leaders from specific areas to discuss pressing issues in Socrates Seminars. The last one was hosted in Medellin, Colombia around the question: Can Democracies fix Democracy? 
Although Aspen Colombia is an emerging organization, it has already summoned some of Colombia´s most impactful leaders, and LC2050 has begun to show results in the initiatives that fellows are spearheading.

We support enterprising families in structuring effective social and environmental impact strategies. 

At Filantropico,  we strive to grow and strengthen a community of enterprising families who have structured and focused social and environmental investing strategies, who know each other well, and who share best practices, achievements, lessons, and challenges. 

We believe that the more individuals and families implement rigorous and focused philanthropic strategies, their economic resources, and social and intellectual capital will leverage structural changes to build a better society. This is why we advise and accompany families and individuals in structuring their social and environmental impact strategies. 

We have three workstreams:
1. We motivate individuals and families to invest more and better in social and environmental causes for profit or not-for-profit.
2. We build and consolidate a community of philanthropists, so they share best practices, and lessons learned and maintain a deep commitment to social change.
3. We strengthen the social impact ecosystem and help align efforts that produce better results. 

Our services include:
-  Advisory to enterprising families who want to create or strengthen their impact strategies. Our advisory strategy is directed at those who want to begin their social o environmental investing processes, strengthen their governance, incorporate new generations, expand their strategies, and/or explore new investment areas.
- Conferences and expert-led programs about good practices and lessons from the social sector and impact-driven investments. Our conferences and programs offer space for reflection and encounters around the potential of social and environmentally-driven investment for Colombia's development. 
- Knowledge generation (yearly magazine) for effective investments in social impact in Colombia and Latin America. We create and share content for families who are interested in strategic social and environmentally-driven investments in Colombia and Latin America. We highlight successful cases of strategic philanthropy, global tendencies in social investments, and other knowledge about the impact ecosystem in Colombia.

Filantrópico (Filantropía Transformadora)

A non-profit organization which promotes equity through English learning, teacher training, and first-rate education.

The English Learning Center (ELC) is a nonprofit organization that runs Seeds of Change-Chocó, an education program empowering youth in Chocó by providing them with the tools they need to prepare for meaningful life projects and future careers.

Our Mission: To be a point of reference in the region for our leadership in educational and cultural activities. Through teaching English and teacher training, we contribute to building the country's and its regions' prosperity.

Our Vision: To be agents of change in building a nation and a region with more opportunities for everybody through high-quality educational programs. We firmly believe in education and love for others as instruments that unite and generate brotherhood between people and their people.

**Seeds Of Change in a Nutshell**

**Seeds Of Change** is designed and implemented as an after school program to provide high-quality education to 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls), **who will be supported from 9th grade to 11th grade.**

This program will enable students to fully develop their potential in mathematics, critical reading, and English. In addition to academic subjects, the program includes a component dedicated to character building.

This is **an in-person academic program** augmented by technological tools, enriching learning experiences, online learning, and interaction with special guests (including national figures and other young learners).

Each individual **is a seed** capable of making a **positive impact** in their **community**!

**Building Opportunities For Youth In Chocó Department**

Programs like Seeds of Change do not exist in Chocó deparment, primarily because they receive no funding at all. These children seem to be invisible to local and national authorities. That's why we turn to you with the hope of making them visible and amplifying their voices.

The most effective **way to support Seeds of Change-Chocó** is through **donations**, which will provide these children with a unique opportunity in life.

**The cost of the program** for each student **is** **845 USD** per school year, as a **one-time donation.** This amount can also be **divided** into **monthly donations** throughout the year.

This year, we are also fundraising for the 2024 cohort, aiming to empower another 20 children to improve their lives.

Empower leaders to transform education in Colombia, make Colombia a more equitable country through education.

Colombia faces enormous challenges of access, quality and permanency in education. 75% of boys and girls from 0 to 5 years do not receive early education (Wasserman 2020), just 42,8% of young people in the age range to be in 10th and 11th grade have a school to attend (Fundación Corona, 2019). Regarding quality, 33% of 15 year old students reach level 2 (out of 6) in the PISA tests (OECD 2018), and about the permanence of students, only 44% that start school finish 11th grade. This is exacerbated due to the armed conflict in Colombia, being the first country in LATAM where the first cause of death is violence. Displacement of millions of families has been a direct consequence of this, which added to the actual migration of Venezuelans, constitutes a big challenge to relocate and secure them job,health and educational opportunities.

In 2011, a group of 3 young men came together to create an organization to address educational challenges. Enseña por Colombia has a unique, locally rooted but globally informed model, which has been successful in 60 countries that currently implement it. Our strategy is based on our belief that to tackle the educational challenges in Colombia we need diverse leadership on different levels of the system, so that diverse professionals, experienced teachers, students and school principals connect with the mission of improving education and achieve transformative results in themselves and in their communities. These experiences are lived through programs, learning communities, meeting places, and special projects that foster transcendent leadership.
