Central Uganda: Rebuild Our Rural School

Help us raise $3,000 to purchase additional ISSB machines for make blocks to repair our damaged rural school. This is what youth are doing with the ISSB machine we have, https://tinyurl.com/ISSBvideo7. This is where we were last spring, https://tinyurl.com/stormdamage1 -- ISSB stands for Interlocking Stabilized Soil Block - ISSB machine is explained here, https://tinyurl.com/SoilBlocks.

Mother Erinah Junior School in Uganda was founded by community parents and teachers who could not afford to enroll their children in expensive schools. The school is located in Bunakijja Village, Bunakijja Parish, Ntenjeru Sub-County, Mukono District, Uganda. The school admits every school-age child whether s/he has financial support or not. https://www.facebook.com/MotherErinahJuniorSchool

On 20th April 2022, a very strong storm destroyed classrooms. Fortunately, the children were on holiday between school terms. Some students returned after the storm to complete writing letters to their friends at a middle school in Southbury-Middlebury, Connecticut. Children will report back for their second academic term on 09th May 2022. We need your support to enable us to repair the roof of a four-classrooms block and to cover expenses to install temporary structures for the children to continue with their classes.

YTB Global is supporting Mother Erinah Junior School and the students participating in YTB Uganda with this fundraising campaign. Please donate to the "Rebuild Our Rural School" campaign for the students to safely participate with their favorite project: Global Letter Writers Exchange with Middlebury Middle School in Connecticut. Your donation will help the Mukono Uganda community to install temporary structures while roof repairs are made with as little disruption as possible to student learning.

The students at Mother Erinah Junior School are rising to so many challenges. Your donation helps to change the odds so that the students have the best chance of being their best selves and grow into the citizen-contributors the world needs.
