Support Women in conflict-torn DRC

The resumption of violent hostilities in Eastern DRC has led to a surge in forced displacement, deepening the long-lasting crisis and leaving the country on the brink of a humanitarian disaster. Women and girls are disproportionately affected and exposed to increased risks of exploitation and abuse as they face displacement among growing insecurity and violence.

Against this backdrop, it is critical that local women’s rights organizations continue to be supported and take part in all decision-making processes related to humanitarian and crisis response. Women in the DRC make up half of the country’s population and must have a seat at the table to ensure emergency efforts are gender-inclusive and address their urgent needs.

The United Nations Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched an emergency funding appeal to rapidly mobilize urgently needed financing for local women activists in the DRC, whose leadership is more vital than ever before.

Join WPHF and donate today to support women responding to crisis and building peace in the DRC and around the world.

Thank you for your support.
