Since the eruption of heavy fighting in Khartoum and other cities across Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), thousands of civilians have been reportedly killed or injured.

As a result, thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes, exacerbating an already difficult humanitarian situation in which women and girls are bearing the brunt of violence, abuse, and discrimination.

Women civil society leaders in Sudan are serving as first responders on the ground to deliver humanitarian assistance and ensure the safety and protection of women and girls across the country, and they need financing now more than ever.
