From Waste to Worth: Empowering Youth, Reimagining Their Future
In partnership with Mayor Shelley Berkley, The Thread is weaving together the future of Las Vegas. Middle and high school students transform recycled fabrics from local businesses into fashion and merchandise—culminating in a one-of-a-kind couture coat for the Mayor that tells the story of our city, square by square. Each donated square or textile becomes more than fabric: it becomes a pathway to youth leadership, creativity, and workforce readiness.
This is more than an art project. It’s a solution to a critical challenge: too many of our young people are leaving school unprepared for the real world. Through The Thread, students gain hands-on skills in design, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and event production—while learning to collaborate, lead, and innovate. They don’t just imagine their future; they create it.
When you donate, you:
- Empower Youth with real-world skills that lead to jobs and leadership.
- Champion Sustainability by repurposing textiles into wearable art instead of landfill waste.
- Strengthen Community by uniting businesses, schools, nonprofits, and city leaders around a shared vision.
Now is the time to invest in our youth. With your support, they will stitch their ideas, voices, and talents into the fabric of Las Vegas. Together, we can give students the tools to thrive—and ensure our city’s future is as bold, creative, and resilient as they are.
Donate today and be part of the movement shaping Las Vegas’ future.
Got it. Here’s the revised, donation-ready version with a stronger call for community unity and a sense of urgency.
The Thread – Empowering Youth Through Creativity and Sustainability
The Thread, using recycled fabrics from the past two Super Bowls, students transform discarded materials into fashion, merchandise, and even a custom couture for dogs. Along the way, they gain hands-on experience in design, entrepreneurship, event planning, and digital media—skills they aren’t getting anywhere else.
This is about more than clothes. It’s about sustainability, innovation, and opportunity. Instead of seeing fabric as waste, students reimagine it as wearable art and marketable products, launching their own e-commerce store for the holidays. They leave the program not only with confidence and leadership experience, but also with a vision for turning creativity into a career.
Now is the time for our community to rally together. Our city’s youth need us to invest in what is good—education, creativity, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. The Thread is a movement for the greater good, one that unites businesses, schools, nonprofits, and city leaders around a shared purpose: to equip our young people to thrive and to make Las Vegas stronger, greener, and more connected.
Your donation makes this possible. By supporting The Thread, you are:
- Giving Youth Workforce-Ready Skills in fashion, business, and digital media.
- Championing Sustainability by keeping materials out of landfills and turning them into opportunity.
- Strengthening Community by inspiring young people to lead, create, and give back.
We can’t wait—our students need these opportunities now. Together, let’s stitch hope, skills, and leadership into the very fabric of Las Vegas.
Donate today and unite for the greater good.
