Help protect the Cuban crocodile!

$25,000

The Cuban crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) is an endemic and critically endangered species found in Cuba’s Zapata Swamp, its natural environment. Its survival is threatened by human activity and climate change, but there is still time to make a difference.

Your donation will provide satellite tracking devices to monitor their movements and ecological needs, enabling the safe release of captive-bred crocodiles into the wild.

Leading this vital mission are biologist Etiam Pérez and veterinarian Gustavo Sosa, whose years of dedicated research have been essential to safeguarding the Cuban crocodile in the Zapata Swamp. They are joined by the Antonio Núñez Jiménez Foundation for Nature and Humanity, the Enterprise for the Conservation of the Zapata Swamp, the Cuban Crocodile Specialist Group and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cuba, with technical assistance from BIOFIN.

Can you help the Cuban crocodile to live free in its natural habitat? Your support is crucial for their future.
