Help My Father Undergo Life-Saving Cranioplasty Surgery

My name is Qasim, and I am reaching out with a humble request to help save my father’s life.

Three months ago, he had a tragic accident — he fell from a height and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. He developed cerebral edema (brain swelling), and the neurosurgeons had to perform an urgent craniotomy, removing part of his skull bone to relieve the pressure and save his life. After the surgery, he remained in a coma for two weeks, fighting for every breath.

While he survived, the struggle that followed has been heartbreaking. My father is now living without a bone on the right side of his head, leaving his brain dangerously unprotected. His condition is worsening each day:

• His memory and cognition are severely affected, and he often cannot understand his surroundings.
• He has lost his speech and cannot express himself.
• The right side of his body is becoming weaker day by day, leading to significant disability.
• He is now wheelchair-bound, completely dependent on us for even basic needs like eating and going to the washroom.

This is not the man we once knew. Before the accident, my father was healthy, active, and the most responsible member of our family — driving, paying bills, and taking care of everything. Now he is fighting just to survive.

Neurosurgeons have now advised a cranioplasty with a titanium mesh implant, which will replace the missing bone, protect his brain, and give him a chance to recover. With this surgery, there is real hope that he can gradually interact with us again, communicate better, and regain some independence, ultimately allowing him to live a more normal life with his family.

Unfortunately, this procedure is costly, especially with the titanium mesh, ICU care, medicines, and the fact that we must travel to another city for the operation. Our first surgery consumed all of our family’s savings, and today we are left helpless and unable to afford this second, life-saving procedure on our own.
