The Brazzaville Foundation aims to find African solutions to the major challenges of the continent and give them a long-lasting impact in the following areas of work:

Peace – facilitating the intra-Libyan dialogue and resolving international conflicts
Environment – preserving the planet's second lung, the Congo basin
Health – fostering access to quality medicines and fighting against medicines that kill
Foresight – building a new approach to democratic governance and supporting young African talent

The initiatives supported by the Brazzaville Foundation, whose perspectives are detailed in the 2022-2024 work programme available on request, contribute to the implementation of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The organisation is governed by an experienced Board of Trustees, chaired by the civil society diplomat and philanthropist, Jean-Yves Ollivier. Since the mid-1980s, he has acquired expertise as an international mediator, which he has used independently in delicate negotiations in Africa and the Middle East.

The Foundation's actions are also guided by the experience of its eminent advisory board members, including Nobel laureates, former presidents and ministers, and public figures. It also engages with private sector decision-makers and civil society representatives and uses a bottom-up approach to encourage systemic change across Africa through this unique formula.
