Help Build YOUR Temple of Together
Fellow Burners, how many of you have had a transformative experience at the Temple at Burning Man? It is likely the only place where the world’s largest mandala serves as a safe, non-denominational place for 80,000 people to grieve death, let go of that which does not serve us, and celebrate LIFE.
This year’s Temple of Together is dedicated to integrating all the parts of ourselves--good, bad, and ugly, so we are whole and have capacity to heal humanity and our planet. Recently, my aunt and true matriarch of our family, passed away and I dedicate the love I can no longer give her to creating and contributing to this space for all of us who need it.
Few people know that the Temple relies almost entirely on 1,000 volunteers and funding from the community. I am one of many volunteers out of the Bay Area where it is being built. We are 2 weeks away from shipping Temple of Together pieces and need to raise $150,000 to pay for transport, engineering, permits, and feed 200 people during build week on playa.
If you are in the Bay Area, please bring your friends and family these next two weeks Thursday-Monday to The Loom Oakland to volunteer with build and/or sponsor meals. One meal of pizzas alone costs us $250. Sign up to volunteer here.
If you have the capacity to donate, I invite you to make your contribution here. If you would like to meet powerhouse Lebanese American and first female POC lead artist for BM Temple, Caroline Ghosn, we a few talks in the coming weeks, including at The Portal in Mill Valley on Wednesday, July 24th. I am also co-hosting an intimate private dinner the following evening at the Battery and we'd welcome if you would like to host an event at your social private club or home. Talks always include a special dedication ceremony experience with Caroline.
If you or someone you know would like to dedicate a part of the Temple (eg Central Chamber, Tower of Light, Chapel of Wishes), please get in touch with me directly at bonnie@coven.art or 650.942.9506.
