TJHTalks
TJHTalks, an audience-supported program, is a monthly webinar which features preeminent scholars from Poland and around the world examining and discussing Polish Jewish history and contemporary issues. Due to the onset of Covid-19 restrictions this spring, the Taube Center had to suspend its flagship program, Taube Jewish Heritage Tours. In April, we launched TJHTalks, a monthly webinar series on seminal topics in Polish Jewish studies, as a way of maintaining a connection with former tour participants, establishing new partnerships, and growing the Taube Center's global audience. The webinar program has been successful beyond our aspirations, drawing audiences from around the world, averaging 680 attendees per webinar. Since the launch of the series in April 2020, #TJHTalks has gained a worldwide audience. Guest speakers thus far have included Professors Deborah Lipstadt, Dariusz Stola, Samuel Kassow, Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, Antony Polonsky, Marcin Wodzinski, Natalia Aleksiun, Glenn Dynner and Christopher Browning, as well as Jewish culinary icons Leah Koenig, Michael W. Twitty, and Jeffrey Yoskowitz. The Taube Center will host filmmakers Agnieszka Holland and Roberta Grossman in November, followed by Professors Nancy Sinkoff and Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett in December. Your support will enable the Taube Center to continue to maintain the high-quality of the program, invite new scholars, and reach out to an even larger audience.
