Sharron Millers Academy for The Performing Arts

Based in Montclair, NJ since 1997, SMAPA is a Black-led nonprofit arts organization that offers dance classes in Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Salsa, and Afro-Haitian for preschoolers, kids, teens, and adults. Through outreach programs in underserved public schools in Paterson, Newark, and East Orange, NJ, and scholarship programs in their studio, SMAPA brings dance to students who might otherwise lack access to training in the performing arts.
