Shepherd's Fund
Shepherd's Fund is a missionary project of Word Revival Outreach Mission (The Empowerment Center), a registered 501(c)(3) based in Arlington, Texas.
Across Nigeria, thousands of pastors serve small congregations that cannot pay them a living wage. They preach on Sunday and trade in the market on Monday, not because the calling is part-time, but because the offering does not stretch. The work does not stop — it just costs the pastor's family everything it has.
Shepherd's Fund exists to change that one pastor at a time. We
verify that a church is real: photographs of the building and a service, an address, and a telephone call in which someone answers and confirms who serves there and for how long. Nothing is published until a person on our team has spoken to someone and signed off. Only then does a pastor appear to donors.
A donor then adopts a pastor — one to one — and commits to a monthly amount they send directly to him. That money never passes through us. We handle the verification, the introduction and the record-keeping, so the relationship is between two people rather than routed through an institution. Gifts to the fund itself pay for the verification calls, the field visits and bridge support for pastors still waiting to be matched.
The work is carried out under the oversight of Word Revival Outreach Mission (The Empowerment Center), and all charitable donations are received by the mission.
