Make Psychedelic Therapy Available to Those Most In Need!

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is not a "one sized fits all" approach. Each individual's story and life experience is unique and thus their needs for healing must also be seen and respected as unique, in order to receive the highest potential benefit from services.

At Sequoia Center, we focus on adapting psychedelic-assisted services to meet the needs of each individual, both within our clinic walls and beyond. We know that "accessibility" goes beyond just affordable care. Specifically, we believe that all people should be offered the same opportunities to acquire the same information and enjoy safe psychedelic services that are effective for their unique needs. This means truly listening to people, meeting them where they're at, offering a diverse array of options, and being willing to adapt or change course if a chosen option proves ineffective. It also means addressing systemic health inequities by prioritizing those individuals who have been historically marginalized and underserved.

We've been serving the Portland community, offering ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation and integration counseling, and community education since April 2022. In that time, we've provided 75+ ketamine-assisted therapy sessions (and related services) for individuals identifying as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+. We have subsidized treatment costs for all of these individuals, utilizing a pay-what-you-can sliding scale model (grant funds cover the difference between clients' chosen copays and providers' hourly rates). The generous support of our founding donor (The Educational Foundation of America) allowed us to build our basic infrastructure, apply for 501c3 status, and subsidize treatment costs.

Now, the time has come for us to initiate our first ever fundraising campaign. We are currently undergoing an expansion to meet increased demand. Specifically, we are increasing our physical space to accommodate more clients and types of services, including adding a large room for group psychedelic-assisted services. We are also hiring new practitioners with diverse identities, in order to serve clients desiring to work with practitioners who share their identities. Finally, we are building a robust training infrastructure for students and new practitioners to gain hands-on experience in psychedelic therapies.

Your donations will go directly towards supporting our service expansion as well as subsidizing treatment costs for individuals who cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket for services. Most importantly, your generous support helps us serve more clients, train more practitioners, and educate more of the public, all of which support our greater goal of MAKING PSYCHEDELIC THERAPY ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL!

Thank you in advance for your commitment to safe & effective psychedelic-assisted services for all.
