Based in Charlotte, NC, we empower over 500 women and families in the US, Africa, and South & Central America a year.

We bridge the gap from pain to purpose through:
-Impactful Connections- We gather artisans into our community-then we surround and support them with mentors, partners, and resources that equip and empower them.
-Inspired Creations- Our artisans handcraft works of art-a restorative process that teaches them skills, instills hope, and ignites their sense of purpose.
-Economic Confidence- Artisans emerge from programs and partnerships with us as confident contributors to society and with momentum towards economic mobility.

We help women realize a brighter future – we help them change their history.
The women we serve are overcoming challenging circumstances such as human trafficking, abuse, addiction, incarceration, poverty and persecution. 
 
We empower them by teaching them a new skill – they become artisans as we teach them to make jewelry and other crafts.  When they come to us, these women are often times broken – they don’t feel successful, they don’t feel capable, and that directly impacts their confidence and ability to move forward in life.  Mastering a new skill changes that – it grows their confidence and helps them realize that they ARE valuable and CAN be successful.
 
On top of that, we surround them with love and encouragement – we are their support system as they realize their dreams.

Community Free Clinic provides free healthcare and pharmacy services to residents of Cabarrus County, NC since 1994. 

The Community Free Clinic is the only free clinic in Cabarrus County, NC, located northeast of Charlotte. For adults who earn less than $45,000 per year and are uninsured, we provide free primary care, medication, some specialty care, and limited mental and dental health. We aim to treat our patients comprehensively, so we have a Community Health Worker who offers referrals for support for issues that impact our patients lives, including food and housing insecurity, lack of transportation, substance abuse, and domestic violence, among many other issues. We also provide Lifestyle Medicine, which includes diet and exercise support, particularly important for our patients with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Those patients also may be part of our Food Pharmacy, where they will receive a recipe, ingredients for a meal, and a cooking demonstration, to learn how to eat more nutritiously on a budget.

We operate as the enrollment center for HealthNet Cabarrus, where hospitals, medical providers, and nonprofits work together to provide free and reduced-cost care for patients, particularly where patients need specialty care like surgery or cancer care.

We are open Monday-Thursday 8 am - 5 pm, and on the second Wednesday of the month from 5 pm - 8 pm. We have a staff of 13 and more than 275 volunteers who support the Clinic's work. Last year, we served 917 patients through the Clinic, 603 with direct patient care, and 1,265 through HealthNet Cabarrus.
