The vision of Ducks Unlimited is wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.

As the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.

Waterfowl conservation is facing important challenges as wetlands and other habitats are being degraded and destroyed across the continent. Ducks Unlimited has a vision to reverse this trend.

Ducks Unlimited will achieve our vision through diverse public and private partnerships to address the full range of factors that continue to erode waterfowl habitat across North America.

DU got its start in 1937 during the Dust Bowl when North America's drought-plagued waterfowl populations had plunged to unprecedented lows. 

Determined not to sit idly by as the continent's waterfowl dwindled beyond recovery, a small group of sportsmen joined together to form an organization that became known as Ducks Unlimited.

Thanks to decades of abiding by that single mission, Ducks Unlimited is now the world's largest and most effective private waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization. 

DU is able to multilaterally deliver its work through a series of partnerships with private individuals, landowners, agencies, scientific communities and other entities.

To empower and mentor those most underrepresented in tech to be tech innovators through hands-on AI and computer science training.

CodeCrew directly addresses the diversity and access gap in tech. We offer educational opportunities that 1) teach children and adults to code while mentoring them toward careers in tech fields and 2) provide educators with the tools to increase computer science knowledge for all students. We are introducing an entire generation to the 21st-century skills foundational to individual success.

Our tech education programs do not just teach students how to write code or produce software applications. Our programs enable analytical thinking, encouraging students to focus on big-picture outcomes and detail-level execution while allowing them to develop their leadership skills and take ownership of their decisions. Computer Science training teaches students to take pride in what they do, to accept feedback and peer criticism, and be excited about sharing their work with the world.  High levels of quality computer science education will transform students into highly paid employees and entrepreneurs, as well as highly effective citizens.  Memphis is finally positioned to become a significant pipeline of African American and Latino tech talent for the future.  But we must continue our efforts. Your gift powers our work.
