Mission of NPDF is to “Protect & Support” the efforts of law enforcement, including public safety and child safety programs.


The National Police Defense Foundation (501c3 Non-Profit)(NPDF) provides medical and legal support services to the law enforcement community, as well as funds a variety of public safety and law enforcement initiatives.  The NPDF membership exceeds over 200,000 members and supporters worldwide. The basic mission statement of the National Police Defense Foundation is to “Protect & Support” the efforts of law enforcement. This is being accomplished through the important medical and legal support services provided the national law enforcement community, as well as  everal NPDF law enforcement programs involving public safety and child safety programs.

The “[Operation Kids](https://www.npdf1.org/operation-kids/ "Operation Kids")” program is a multi-faceted NPDF child safety program that (1) distributes free child fingerprint/DNA kits to parents (2) sponsors youth athletic events (3) posts periodic rewards on missing and kidnapped children (4) issues annual scholarships (5) funds Project Pedophile  and (6) arranges lifesaving operations and medical treatment for critically ill children worldwide.

**“[Safe Cop](https://www.npdf1.org/safe-cop/ "Safe Cop")”** is nationally renowned for posting up to a $10,000 cash reward for public information that results in the arrest and conviction of anyone who shoots a member law enforcement officer, anywhere in the United States. The Safe Cop program was also expanded to provide critical medical care and psychological counseling to disabled law enforcement personnel worldwide.

**Save A K-9 Officer Program** This newest “Safe Cop” law enforcement initiative addresses the serious increase of armed assaults on K9 police dogs by donations bullet proof vests to law enforcement agencies. This program is administered and funded by the NPDF Deputy Sheriffs & Peace Officers Coalition.

**Project Pedophile** The NPDF “Operation Kids” program was established “Project Pedophile” in order to address the serious increase of pedophile activity on the internet that has been victimizing our children. The program will reward any child with a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond for information that leads to the federal arrest and conviction of any pedophile operating on the internet.

Giving veterans an emotionally supportive best friend while saving shelter animals no one wants. National 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our vision is an adopted pet in the home of every veteran who needs one. 

We give veterans a renewed sense of purpose by inspiring them to adopt those dogs and cats who are most overlooked at shelters, and share our philosophy of adopting pets for life.

Through our hardship and hero funds, we support veterans in our program experiencing temporary financial challenge or inability to pay for extraordinary pet medical care. In our experience, even modest investments help keep people and pets together, avoiding surrender back to the shelter or economic euthanasia.

We are proud to serve veterans from WWII to active duty, from all armed forces and at any stage of their careers. Animals saved through our program are dogs/cats who are adult, special needs, and chronically homeless, as well as larger breed dogs.

Pets for Patriots

My Dog Is My Home's mission is to increase access to shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness with animals.

My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness with companion animals. By securing their ability to maintain their most important relationships and find adequate shelter, we ensure every family’s right to build a home.

We assist service providers like homeless shelters in expanding their programming to allow humans and their companion animals to remain together. My Dog Is My Home’s programs currently fall into three categories: storytelling, community building, and technical assistance.

STORYTELLING
Storytelling is at the foundation of our work. We believe that people who are impacted by the problem are necessarily close to the solution. My Dog Is My Home provides a platform for people with actual lived experience of homelessness and animal companionship to share in their own words how co-sheltering people and animals together contributes to ending homelessness. Through exhibitions, speaking events, and video or narrated images, we are able to educate members of the public, program administrators, and policymakers about preserving the human-animal bond in circumstances of homelessness.

COMMUNITY BUILDING
We believe in the mantra that we are “stronger together.” My Dog Is My Home holds space for members of the homeless services and animal welfare communities to come together to connect, learn from one another, and solve mutual problems. Most notably, our community building efforts have created two related but distinct stakeholder watering holes: 

1) Annual Co-Sheltering Conference
Since 2021, My Dog Is My Home’s annual conference has drawn 400-500 people together from across disciplines to hear from homeless shelter programs about co-
sheltering models in practice, latest research in homelessness and animal companionship, and relevant policy efforts across the US and globally.

2) Co-Sheltering Collaborative
The Co-Sheltering Collaborative is a peer-to-peer learning network with membership that
spans across animal welfare and homeless services. This Collaborative meets as a large group on a quarterly basis to exchange resources, troubleshoot, and hear presentations from members on the progress of their work. In between large group meetings, working groups meet to produce deliverables that work towards collectively developed goals. The Collaborative also provides a sustained community for attendees of the annual conference.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
My Dog Is My Home also works with homeless shelters that need more hands-on assistance with developing or implementing co-sheltering. We provide customized training, consultation on policies, and resource coordination to ensure a successful co-sheltering program.
