For years, Indigenous women in Peru's Sacred Valley have served as trusted health leaders by teaching nutrition, supporting women’s health, providing first aid, and promoting health and wellbeing in some of the region's most remote, underserved communities.
This October, Sacred Valley Health will celebrate a historic milestone as our first 10 promotoras become nationally certified Intercultural Community Health Educators. This is the first certification of its kind for Quechua speaking community health educators in Peru, and this is an historic professional first for these Indigenous women! Your gift will help support this pilot certification process, creating a pathway for dozens more community health workers to earn this important recognition in the years ahead.
