On November 5, 2024, there was a major win for freedom right in the nation's capital. A movement of DC voters voted in favor of Initiative 83 to bring ranked choice voting and open primaries to the District's elections.

And in June (primaries) and November (general) 2026, Washington, DC will elect its leaders for the first time with ranked choice voting.

Lisa Rice and Grow Democracy DC Civic Education Fund (GDDC CEF) is working with voters, candidates, and election administrators to ensure that everyone in the city is prepared to make the most of this groundbreaking opportunity.

Support Lisa and GDDC CEF to meet their January 2026 fundraising goal with a generous, tax-deduction eligible 501 C3 charitable donation from your DAF, checking account, credit cards, or other methods through Rank the Vote's Grassroots Victory Fund.

Despite a decades long odyssey of disillusionment with Congress, Presidents, and governments, Americans still want government of, by, and for the people - that gets the stuff done that we need. The voters of the nation's capital are about to show the rest of the country that we can make that dream a reality.
