It is a myth that there are no poor children in Poland. The data is clear: more than 360,000 of them still live without their basic needs met; they often go hungry, lack adequate access to medical care, and are excluded from everyday activities. Many people are affected by poverty, but children suffer the most. Poverty leaves a lasting mark on their entire lives. Children need our support. Every day
In Poland there are still children who don’t get enough to eat, hand down old backpacks to their younger siblings, and spend their entire summer vacation at home scrolling through their phones. The Polish Red Cross supports thousands of them by organizing summer camps, educational workshops and running food programs.
Investing in children shapes the future of society as a whole: it provides greater opportunities for education, independence, and active participation in social and professional life. Every contribution increases the likelihood that a child will break the cycle of poverty and be able to reach their full potential.
Could you help us support kids in Poland?
How does Polish Red Cross support children?
- In 2025, the Polish Red Cross provided support to nearly one million beneficiaries, of whom approximately 130,000 were children;
- Our food programs in after-school centers and schools allowed 9,000 children to have access to nourishing meals every day;
- We delivered 446,000 food packages and other parcels for entire families;
- Every year 47,000 children participate in our educational activities, incl. first aid trainings and championships;
- Almost nearly 1,000 children take part in our summer camps, trips, one-day camps and workshops organized in the Polish Red Cross's activity centers all over Poland.
The Polish Red Cross’s assistance isn’t just about tangible items like backpacks or meals. It also involves organizing leisure activities, building self-confidence, providing support during difficult times, and all the efforts that help children avoid thinking of themselves as “poor,” “inferior,” or “weaker” than their peers.
We come to you to ask: support Polish children with us. Join our efforts to allow more kids to have a fun summer and a good start of a new school year in September, with no child going hungry or lacking school materials.
- For around $10 we can provide a warm, noursihing meal to a child in need.
- For around $25 we can provide a child with psychological support.
- For around $45 we can welcome one child to one joyful day at our summer camp.
