"After the initial relief supplies distribution and needs assessment, Phare Ponleu Selpak - Battambang decided to open art activity centres in 2 of the largest camps for Internally Displaced People (IDP). Our graduates from Phare, The Cambodian Circus - Siem Reap volunteered to perform the opening show, to lift spirits and bring light and joy straight to the heart of hundreds of children and families at the camps.
Our current students followed with equally enthralling performances, giving moments of laughter and relief to the hundreds of viewers. Several families expressed their gratitude in helping them forget their worries, if even just for an hour. The shows were the perfect introduction to the Phare Activities Camp, providing not only classes in drawing, dance, theatre, circus and music but also vital workshops on personal safety, hygiene and sanitation for children and their caregivers.
We’re preparing essential supplies for the upcoming Phare Activity Camp—bringing joy, nourishment, and hope to thousands of children and families in need.
What we hope to provide:
• Milk & juice for children
• Delicious biscuits and snacks for daily energy
• Detergent for families
• Toothpaste, soap and shampoo for households
We’ll be leaving for the camp on August 26, so if you’d like to contribute, goods donations can be dropped off at Phare Ponleu Selpak in Battambang and our team is ready to receive with gratitude!
Every box, bottle, and gesture of kindness helps us bring care and comfort to those who need it most, especially our beloved children at the camp.
Let’s make this camp unforgettable. Together. "
