Operational Medicine Austere Support (O.M.A.S.) is a service‑disabled veteran–led 501(c)(3) public charity, focused on strengthening emergency readiness in rural and austere communities that are routinely overlooked by traditional funding streams. We collaborate with small fire districts, clinics, and community organizations to provide an integrated package of field support, practical training, essential equipment, and lightweight technology tools tailored to local realities.
The Rural Responder Initiative is a fundraiser designed to sustain the core infrastructure that makes that work possible. Contributions help cover administrative and compliance requirements, insurance, communications, secure storage, and the purchase, maintenance, and replacement of both training equipment and public‑access lifesaving kits deployed in high‑risk locations. Support also enables O.M.A.S. to develop and maintain simple data and technology capabilities—such as kit tracking, basic dashboards, and remote coordination—that allow small agencies to monitor readiness, document impact, and plan improvements without needing their own technical staff.
Donations to this campaign do not fund a large central headquarters or unnecessary bureaucracy. They underwrite a lean, operational nonprofit model that keeps resources as close to the field as possible, converting core operating dollars into measurable outcomes: better‑prepared responders and residents, critical equipment where it is most needed, and rural communities that are more capable of managing emergencies while formal help is still on the way.
