For many reasons, a dog who is loved, can find itself in need of a new home. Common reasons include an owner's death, owner loss of income causing home displacement, divorce, run-a-ways that have no identification or even a breeder who needs to retire a dog from service. NorCal Sheltie Rescue is a group of volunteers who love the Shetland Sheepdog breed who are dedicated to matching dogs in need with people who want to welcome and love them into their homes. Many Shelties are in need of vet care when they enter the program like being spayed or neutered, or dental services and general health checks. The majority of expense goes to these vet services and ongoing care for unadoptable dogs who are put in the Hospice program or Special Needs program.
