Duka Moja Water Initiative Capital Campaign
We are No End To Love. Our focus is self-reliance. We work with families in small villages in Kenya where family extends well beyond the walls of the mud hut called home. Our mission is to improve the lives of families by establishing clean, accessible water sources, supporting education, creating income opportunities and assuring families have safe, clean and adequate shelter.
WATER IS LIFE!
We are dedicated to providing clean, reliable, and accessible water sources for families and communities.
We have rehabilitated springs and have provided individual families with rain harvesting systems.
Due to the lack of natural water resources and water infrastructure in the rural areas of Kenya, other solutions are sometimes necessary to provide water in communities.
ONE SOLUTION is to establish community-based rain harvesting systems. These larger systems require an upfront investment yet pay dividends within the community for many years. This solution also provides an economic boost by using local labor and contractors.
Duka Moja, Narok, Kenya is a large community without any natural resources for water. Families use much of their income to pay for water because water is too far away to walk to or the water that is available is not healthy for human consumption. We have promised the families of Duka Moja we will do what it takes to bring them water. To fulfill our promise, we intend to build a rain harvesting system that will provide clean water for over 3,000 people and will provide income to build and operate a school for the children of the community. We have partnered with a community member who is donating land to No End To Love for the rain harvesting structure and the future school.
It will only cost $25 for every person impacted by this water project to build it.
A community rain harvesting system has three components.
- Storage Tank with 300,000 liter capacity - think, 150,000 2 liter bottles of Coke
- Rain harvesting roof large enough to collect the water needed to last through the dry season - think, the size of an elementary school
- Access to Clean Water - think, an ATM machine, but for water
To collect and provide water for 3,000 people, the initial investment is $75,000 to build the Duka Moja Community Rain Harvesting System.
How many people can you assist in having access to clean, reliable water for their families?
$100 will assist a family of 4 to have clean, living water every day of the year.
$500 will support a large extended family (about 20 people living in a small cluster of huts) to have access to clean, living water every day of the year.
$1000 will provide clean, living water for a small “neighborhood” every day of the year.
How many families can you provide water for today?
Remember Water is Life and every $25 represents a real person who struggles with access to clean, living water for their family on a daily basis.
Your support is needed to make a difference in Duka Moja and other communities where families lack access to clean, living water EVERY DAY!
Your donations will provide clean water for the community of Duka Moja as well as the promise of a new school for the community to built under the rain harvesting roof.
