Running for us, can be a sacred prayer.

Our runners are traveling to Japan to participate in the 2025 Tasuki Run, a ceremonial, prayer run around Mount Fuji. The Run, inspired by the Pit River Ancestral Run, emerged in 2017. We organized a delegation to help them initiate the first run. We have been invited to participate once again.

Our friends from Japan offer the following description of the Tasuki Run:

"In Japan, through our ancient Shinto beliefs we have a deep love of, and connection to nature and our traditional cultures reflected this relationship. Through the Tasuki Run we want to bring back Japanese traditional culture and custom. Tasuki translates literally to the cord that is used to tie up our kimono, but it also symbolizes the bonds of friendship and partnership. In the ancient time stories, five colors of people came to Japan and prayed and talked together to make peace. We will use five-color cord for the symbol of the run. We want to pray for the peace and make harmony together through the run and create strong bonds of friendship throughout the world. In addition to that, through the run we want to connect sacred Mount Shasta, Mauna Kea, and Mount Fuji together with prayer."

With your donation, you can support our runners in being a part of this prayer.
