THE CONTEXT: Why Muslim-centered institutions matter

Civil rights organizations have a proven track record of driving systematic change in the United States. But communities without dedicated institutions risk their interests being de-prioritized or under-represented. While there is a deep bench of effective civil rights organizations generally, few are strictly focused on the Muslim community and those that do exist operate with varying levels of capability and scale.

THE PROBLEM: We have wealth, but we lack power

Muslim Americans donate generously, but we donate inefficiently and underprioritize civil rights / social justice institutions until it’s too late.

  • Analysis Paralysis: Most donors do not have time to research each nonprofit’s accomplishments, mission, and financial competency to find the "best" organizations. So, we sit on the sidelines.
  • The "Crisis Cycle": We donate reactively—only when a tragedy hits the news. While these volatile donations may work for disaster relief organizations, civil rights advocacy is driven by human talent which requires stable, recurring donations to retain the legal and policy experts fighting for our civil rights.

THE SOLUTION: The Muslim Civil Rights Index

A single investment/donation that automatically diversifies your contribution across the most effective Muslim-focused civil rights institutions in America.

  • Approach: Similar to investing in index funds (e.g., S&P 500), we take a portfolio approach that invests in the broader Muslim civil rights sector rather than picking a single organization.
  • One Donation: You give one, recurring donation (monthly or annually)
  • Full Coverage: Your funds are automatically split across vetted organizations in the Muslim civil rights sector. Selection criteria include: National coverage (i.e., no state-specific organizations), Primary activity consists of civil rights litigation and legal advice, broad focus across all Muslims (i.e., not focused on a specific ethnicity / sub-group)
  • Zero Friction: No research required. We handle the vetting, the weighting, and the distribution.

THE PORTFOLIO

Your single donation supports this entire ecosystem:
