Children's Heart

Since 2005, Mission Bambini’s Children’s Heart project has been dedicated to reducing child mortality caused by congenital and acquired heart diseases in low-income countries. Every year, thousands of children are born with serious heart conditions that threaten their survival. Without urgent surgery and proper medical care, their chances of living a healthy life are minimal.

This year, our mission is clear: we aim to save 82 children by providing them with life-saving cardiac surgeries.

To achieve this goal, Children’s Heart operates through three key pillars:

1. Life-Saving Cardiac Surgery – Performing essential heart surgeries to give children a second chance at life.
2. Capacity Building and Training – Empowering local medical teams with the skills and knowledge to perform surgeries and provide long-term care independently.
3. Prevention and Follow-up – Conducting early screenings, raising awareness, and ensuring post-operative care for long-term well-being.

Through regular medical missions, our team of volunteer doctors travels nearly every month to underserved regions in Africa (Eritrea, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia), Asia (Nepal), and Europe (Albania, Kosovo). These missions not only save lives but also contribute to the long-term development of local healthcare systems. By working side by side with local professionals, our volunteers help create a self-sustaining medical network capable of addressing pediatric heart conditions independently.

Our dedicated team of highly skilled doctors generously donates their time, expertise, and resources to perform these life-saving surgeries. Beyond providing urgent medical care, they also collaborate closely with local healthcare professionals, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to improve the long-term treatment of children with heart conditions.

Yet, this mission cannot happen without your support. While our doctors volunteer their services, the expenses for airfare, transportation, and vital medical supplies remain substantial.
