Rally for Accessible Community Tennis in San Francisco
- Raised
- $48,764
- Goal
- $150,000
TMAC, an all volunteer community was forced to transition into a nonprofit after the City and Recreation & Parks approved a controversial $5 reservation fee for public tennis courts. TMAC must fundraise to not only cover the city’s non-profit reservation fees of $20 per hour, but also to sustain its growing calendar of community events. TMAC already organized 50 sessions in the past 18 months. Demand is only increasing, and with the new fees, each meetup will now average $80 in costs.
“TMAC is the reason I’ve stayed in San Francisco,” said Kali Hall, a TMAC participant and volunteer. “TMAC has built something special, where friendships extend beyond the courts and in some cases TMAC has even replaced dating apps. Rally Gala & Gala Rave is more than a fundraiser, it’s a lifeline to our growing community.”
