Support Indigenous Community Radio in the Paraguayan Chaco

Community radio is a vital source of information, cultural expression and community participation across the Paraguayan Chaco. Indigenous radio stations broadcast in local languages, share traditional knowledge and provide culturally relevant information on water, health, education, climate change, wildfire prevention and territorial rights.

The Chaco Communicators Network brings together community radio directors and broadcasters from different Indigenous peoples and territories. It provides a space for coordination, shared learning and joint action among radio stations serving communities across the Chaco.

Through this campaign, Mingarã will organize one gathering of the Chaco Communicators Network and initially provide direct technical and operational support to two Indigenous community radio stations.

The gathering will allow communicators to identify shared priorities, exchange experiences, strengthen coordination and plan collaborative initiatives. Support for the two radio stations will respond to their most urgent needs and may include basic equipment, technical assistance, maintenance and improved capacity to produce locally relevant programming.

The campaign will also encourage the participation of women and young communicators and promote content in Indigenous languages that reflects community knowledge, culture and territorial priorities.
