**Little Moss is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to expanding access to meaningful, hands-on art experiences for children and families.**

Founded by San Francisco–based artist and educator Xiao He, Little Moss offers thoughtfully designed art workshops in libraries, playgrounds, schools, and community spaces across the Bay Area. Our programs emphasize process over perfection—encouraging children to explore materials, imagination, and storytelling through drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Little Moss workshops are intentionally structured to be welcoming and accessible. We work with community partners to offer programs at low or no cost whenever possible, while ensuring that artists are fairly compensated and materials are high quality and safe. Our goal is to remove barriers to participation without compromising the care, rigor, or joy of the creative experience.

Rather than one-off activities, Little Moss focuses on immersive, hands-on engagement. Children are encouraged to work at a large scale, collaborate with peers, and experiment freely. Many programs culminate in shared outcomes—such as collaborative murals or community clay sculptures—allowing children to see how their individual contributions come together as part of a collective work.

By partnering with public institutions like libraries and local organizations, Little Moss meets families where they already gather and helps strengthen community connection through art.
