We run [LessWrong.com](http://lesswrong.com/), [Lighthaven.space](https://www.lighthaven.space/) and many other pieces of infrastructure dedicated to making the future of humanity go well.

In 2025, we need about $2M to continue our operations for the next year. Most of that goes into development of [LessWrong.com](http://lesswrong.com/) and adjacent projects, but we also worked on [AI-2027.com](http://ai-2027.com/) and are working on its soon-to-be-released sequel. We built the website and online materials for Nate Soares and Eliezer Yudkowsky's book "If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies" at [ifanyonebuildsit.com](http://ifanyonebuildsit.com/), and are likely to do more work in that space. 

Last year around $500k of our funding went into supporting Lighthaven.space, running 35+ programs and large events with many thousands of attendees.

Humanity's future could be vast, spanning billions of flourishing galaxies, reaching far into our future light cone [1]. However, it seems humanity might never achieve this; we might not even survive the century. To increase our odds, we build services and infrastructure for people who are helping humanity navigate this crucial period.

Lightcone Infrastructure

As a full-time AGI safety / alignment researcher since 2021, I wouldn’t have made a fraction as much progress without lesswrong / alignment forum, which is not just a first-rate publishing platform but a unique forum and community, built from the ground up to facilitate careful and productive conversations. I’m giving Lightcone 100% of my x-risk-oriented donation budget this year, and I wish I had more to give.

Lightcone Infrastructure is keeping the light of civilization alive 1) by hosting people who think humans have a place among and across the stars and 2) by reducing existential risk from AI through promoting the best discourse I've seen ANYWHERE on the internet.

It's easy to criticize people and organizations that you disagree with.

Lightcone and its associated community are unusually honest. I'd rather give money to something which honestly disagrees with me than to something which just panders.
