Dear Friends,

At Life Concern, we have been at the forefront of providing essential HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services to 3,500 Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs) in Rumphi District, Malawi. Unfortunately, due to the freeze on US Government-funded project, once our strongest pillar for HIV-related support, has collapsed, threatening the health and well-being of those who rely on our interventions. Due to aid freeze, over 33% AGYWs face increased vulnerability to HIV infection, treatment disruptions, and limited access to sexual and reproductive health services. Our comprehensive HIV service package, which includes commodity promotion and distribution, ART retention, innovative HIV case finding, STI screening, and GBV support, is now severely disrupted. The collapse of this funding has significantly reduced our ability to conduct mobile outreach clinics, ART default tracing, establish safe spaces for adolescents living with HIV and deliver life-saving services, thereby endangering vulnerable populations by leaving them with limited access to treatment and prevention. With the increase in the number of AGYWs living with HIV on ART and alarmingly high rates of STI, cervical cancer, and low condom uptake, the negative implications of this funding cut are dire. We urgently call upon your support to restore these interventions and safeguard the health of our community. Every contribution can help us rebuild and empower the lives of those at risk.

LICO exists to strengthen community development systems by addressing local challenges.
